In 1988 Superior Flux purchased the Anti-Borax Company. Since then, Superior Flux has been supplying the Anti-Borax line of fluxes to customers engaged in a wide array of welding and brazing applications.

Anti-Borax No. 1 Cast Iron Welding Flux promotes deep penetration of the joints, resulting in high bond strength. Cast iron welding flux is often used in the following applications: farm equipment, engine repair and maintenance.

Anti-Borax No. 2 is a brazing powder flux used for brazing bronze, brass, copper, steel, stainless steel, malleable iron and heat-resistant alloys. Anti-Borax No. 2 provides deep penetration of filler metal into the joints, resulting in high bond-strength. The flux dissolves and removes oxides rapidly and thoroughly with a minimum of bubbling, keeping porosity and impurities out of the joints.

Anti-Borax No. 8 Aluminum Welding Flux is used for welding aluminum metal in sheet, extruded and cast form. The flux is an excellent solvent for aluminum oxide, promoting strong joints free of oxide inclusions. This aluminum welding flux is formulated for welding 52-S, as well as the pure 2-S aluminum sheet used in aircraft. The flux works best with oxy-acetylene gas torches using 1100-series aluminum filler rod. It works well in selected induction and furnace applications.

EZ Forge Flux (also known as Cherry Heat and Climax) adheres to ferrous metals at relatively low heat, and is equally good for lap, split, butt, or jump welding. This flux compound enables the blacksmith to weld tool steel, plow open hearth and Bessemer steel at relatively low temperatures making stronger, smoother welds. The flux’s high percentage of metal (about 40%) facilitates the forge welding process considerably. This family of fluxes can be used with both iron and steel.

Stableweld Forge Welding Flux has a lower (12%) metal loading than the EZ, Cherry, and Climax fluxes. This forge flux is used in forge applications that require a lower metal concentration in the flux. Stableweld works like EZ in most forge welding processes, and can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Forge Borax contains no water or hydration and melts smoothly at 740°C /1350°F. The flux promotes deep penetration of the filler metal in the joints, resulting in high bond strength. Forge Borax removes oxides rapidly and thoroughly without bubbling, keeping impurities and porosity out of the joints

Crescent Forge Welding Flux serves as a substitute for Borax on fine work forgings. Crescent Forge flux contains no metal filings and thus cleans easier. It is used in applications such as finishing heats, toe caulk and plow work.
