Superior Flux offers a full range of radiator fluxes and cleaners for soldering copper/brass radiator components. Our radiator fluxes are formulated for tube mill tinning operations, core baking, header dip soldering, and torch tank and brass part assembly.

Zinc-free soldering of brass connection using Superior 520B flux with high heat torch heat (not directly on the soldered connection) to replace zinc chloride based flux. Superior No. 520B radiator flux is a zinc-free, bromide-based amine salt flux specifically designed for copper-brass radiator assembly soldering. The high concentration of No. 520B allows for a great amount of dilution, resulting in huge savings for production operations. This radiator flux can also been used for soldering brass header dips to the end of the radiator core with immersion or some other method of soldering the brass tubes to the brass header.

Superior No. 530 tube mill radiator flux is formulated for solder coating of brass tubes in a continuous tinning operation. No. 530 offers a high degree of fluxing activity and excellent oil absorption, both essential properties for brass tube mill soldering. No. 530 leaves virtually no residue in lockseam tubes. In core baking applications the assembled radiator core is fluxed when passed through an oven to fuse the soldering brass tubes to the copper fins.

Superior No. 592 radiator flux contains zinc, giving this flux the strength to withstand torch heat during torch tank and brass part assembly. No. 592 can also be used for soldering brass header dips to the end of the radiator core with immersion or some other method of soldering the brass tubes to the brass header. The hybrid chemistry of No. 592 limits brass turning green after soldering. No. 592 is highly concentrated for dilution.

Superior No. 5700SFM is a concentrated cleaner for removing surface oxidation from copper and brass surfaces. No. 5700SFM removes oxides from brass and copper withou t forming metal chelates that would later interfere with waste water treatment operations. No. 5700SFM is a concentrate dilutable to two parts waters to one part  cleaner concentrate for brass cleaner and up to six parts water to one part cleaner concentrate for copper cleaner.
